工作职责:
?Monitorspecimencollection,identification,transport,storage,andprocessingtoensurequalityofspecimenbeforetesting.
?Preparesreagents,standardsandcontrolsaccordingtoprescribedprocedures.
?Performstestsandsampleanalysisintheareasofclinicalchemistry,hematology&BloodBank,microbiology,immunologyand/orBodyfluidanalysis.
?Verifiestestresultspriortorelease.
?Performsqualitycontroltoensureproperfunctioningofinstruments,reagents,andprocedures.Recognizesinstrumentmalfunctionandout-of-controltestresults,takescorrectiveactionandreportstothesupervisor.
?Maintainstestequipmentandinstruments,followingestablishedprocedures.
?Answersquestionsofphysiciansandnursesconcerninglaboratorytests,acceptscomplaints,andinitiatescorrectiveactions.
?Trainsnewemployeesthelaboratorytechniques.
?Giveslecturesonlabtesttechniquesorrelateddiseasesinlaboratory.
?Participatesineducationclassandcontinuingeducationprograms.Attendsworkshops,seminars,andlecturestokeepcurrentonnewinstrumentation,techniquesandproceduresasassignedbythechair.
?Performsmiscellaneousjob-relateddutiesasassigned.

?Relatedbachelor'sdegree,orotherswithcertificationasalaboratorytechnologist.
?IntermediateEnglishlevelinlistening,speaking,reading,andwritingispreferred.
Skills:
?Performfullrangeofchemistry,microbiologyimmunology,hematology&BloodBankandbodyfluidlaboratoryprocedures.
?Participatesintheevaluationofnewtechniquesandproceduresinthelaboratory.
?Evaluatesandsolvesproblemsrelatedtocollectionandprocessingofbiologicalspecimensforanalysis.
?Differentiatesandresolvestechnical,instrument,physiologiccausesofproblemsorunexpectedtestresults.
Knowledge:
?Anunderstandingoftheunderlyingscientificprinciplesoflaboratorytestingaswellasthetechnical,procedural,andproblem-solvingaspects.
?Ageneralcomprehensionofthemanyfactorsthataffecthealthanddisease,andrecognizestheimportanceofpropertestselection,thenumerouscausesofdiscrepanttestresults(patientandlaboratory),deviationoftestresults,andethicsincludingresultconfidentiality.
